First of all, thank you for the good research paper and presentation contents. I would like to know more about the research environment used in this study, and also in detail about the equipment & operating systems, development languages and software libraries you used. Thanks for your question. The simulation is based on my own computer (CPU model: Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-10875H CPU @2.30GHz) and used HFSS and matlab. Operating system is windows 10.

Will you tell us what is the major achievement of this paper, and also what is further study issue from this? Thanks in advance!! Thanks for your question. In this paper I combined surrogate model and Genetic Algorithm (GA) to propose a topology-based optimization method for metamaterial, which uses a less complex surrogate model instead of the electromagnetic model, can greatly reduce the time of optimization. In the future I will try other surrogate models.

Dear Author, you have a very good research. In many Engineering work it's hard to address issues all at the same time. Somehow to address some issues you need to trade or give up some advantages. In your work, what specific aspect(s) was/were sacrificed or ignored to achieve your goal. Thanks for your questions. Yes! As your said, this is a multi-objective optimization problem, using surrogate model can improve its speed but the precision is sacrificed. In this paper, I have proved that it is within the acceptable range.

Dear Author, you have a very good research. Is the technology today capable of implementing your proposed scheme? Is there an existing technology almost similar to your proposal that has been deployed in real world environment? What does it lack that your work specifically addressed? Thank you and stay safe. Thanks for your question. I think it is completely achievable at present, since there are no difficult technical requirements. However, while achieving high speed, this method will reduce accuracy. The present methods are based on improving GA algorithm itself for its high accuracy. In my research, I think more simulations are needed to improve the algorithm.
