| What is the main aim of the SCMA-SIC technique proposed in this article, and what are its advantages over other NOMA solutions ? |
The primary objective of the proposed SCMA-SIC technique is to improve the accuracy of multi-user information decoding in 5G systems, with a particular focus on fewer uplink transmissions.
Compared to other NOMA solutions, SCMA-SIC achieves superior BLER performance, particularly in SCMA-SIC processing. Furthermore, with the integration of power control strategies, both SCMA-SIC and SCMA-SIC-G processes further improve overall system efficiency. |

| How is this research particularly relevant to machine-type communications (mMTC) and the Internet of Things (IoT)? |
mMTC and IoT require massive connectivity and efficient multi-access resources for both uplink and downlink transmissions. To address these challenges, this study proposes the SCMA-SIC technique based on a coded SCMA system, aiming to enhance system reliability and improve multi-user detection accuracy. |
