Hi, Your research is very interesting. Since the SN placement was optimal for water sprinklers in farming, would you think it would be applicable for security systems? Thanks for your concerns. We believe it would be possible to straighforwardly apply to security system by deploying the CCTVs covering all target area with minimal overlapped area.

Is it possible to place the SNs on a 10x10 matrix to test the performance of your design? Yes. It is possible to see the best performance if one cell size on a 10X10 matrix obeys the same proportion as our evaluated optimal rectangular size and compare it to the non-optimized fixed or arbitrary cell size.

Hi, My name is Charnon Poolsin from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. Your work is very useful for smart agriculture. I would like to ask you. Usually, the agricultural area is a square area. Besides circle area, have you ever experimented with square or rectangle area? Thanks. If we consider a square area as a target area for SN deployment, it will be far easier to test our solution because the whole target area and our suggested optimal rectangle shape have similar shape. As we clarify in our future work section, we can further consider an arbitrary-shaped target area having four vertexes with non-even surface.

Have you considered the amount of water sprayed in different areas? We could not consider the water amount. Thanks for your constructive question. Let us consider the water amount depending on the target plants of the given testing farm. We may consider the water pressure with different sizes of sprinkler header.

Hello, I'm Li Yi from Northeastern University. I'm glad to read your paper. Have you considered the combination of spray heads of different sizes Thanks Li for your constructive question. As of now, we could not consider the spray heads of different size. Let us consider it to spread different water amount from the spray depending on the target plants of the given testing farm. We may consider to adjust water pressure with different sizes of spray header as you suggested.

Hi, I am the chair of this session, Bing-Yuh Lu, who comes from the Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology, Guangdong, China. Thank you for presenting the wonderful report and interactive Q & A. The Q & A disclosed the potential solutions for the research by us together. May we will win the great achievement of future researches! Thanks Dr. Bing-Yuh Lu for your organizing our session and encouraging all presenters.

For some reason, my question was deleted. I am wondering if you really need 100% coverage, as the water will penetrate a sandy soil through capillary action. Could you further save sensors? A good point for consideration. As indicated in our future works section, at the current phase of our work we are assuming a prototypical flat and even area with loam, clay, sand, and silt soil texture combinations. In such a case 100% sprinkler coverage effectiveness is achievable. Your observation, however, will be a parameter to consider in our next phase where we will be considering a more realistic smart farm with other types of soil textures and surface undulations where a less than 100% coverage might be the optimal.

What is the reasoning and justification for using a rectangular grid as apposed to a square grid? In order to maximize covering area by maintaining minimal overlapped area, we have to arrange the SNs having rectangle gird shape between them. Otherwise, we could not achieve our goal.
