How did the developed algorithm utilizing camera footage contribute to enhancing the quality control of additive manufacturing processes, and how robust is it in detecting anomalies, particularly considering the simulated rare abnormal conditions in your study? We constructed an anomaly detection dataset for nine unusual situations, and for all these cases, our proposed method demonstrated a robust performance of over 97%, in contrast to the typical methods which showed performances in the 50% to 80% range. Additionally, the camera system we constructed enabled the implementation of our proposed method. This means that the input images received a signal regarding the phase changes of 3D printing, allowing the system to use four different images corresponding to these stages as inputs.

Is the proposed method effective in detecting the presence of bubbles during the production process? In DLP printers, bubbles alone do not necessarily lead to defects. This means that there can be normal bubbles as well as bubbles mixed with debris, and only in the latter case were we detected as defects.

Does the anomaly detection method mentioned in this study only apply to additive manufacturing, or can it be applied to other manufacturing or production domains? The proposed method can, of course, be applied to other domains as well. However, it is applicable when the process consists of steps that are regularly repeated as a single process, and in these steps, the shape of the target object can change.
