| What are the core advantages of the "AI Judges" mechanism proposed in the GIDLMM framework over the Self Consistency method in generating image text descriptions? Why can we improve efficiency while ensuring description quality? |
Firstly, thank you for the question.
For the core advantage of the "AI Judges" mechanism lies in its ability to select the optimal image description within a single interaction,
avoiding the high computational cost and latency associated with the multi-round queries required by the Self-Consistency method.
we employ specialized virtual judges to evaluate descriptions based on specific criteria, such as lighting or texture, rather than simple majority voting,
By using this approach its improves efficiency while ensuring higher quality.
Furthermore, empirical results show that Self-Consistency tends to generate excessive text that breaches CLIPs 77-token input limit, causing performance degradation; the AI Judges mechanism mitigates this, and help to achie higher accuracy (89.25%) and better stability with significantly fewer resources . |

| What other key designs have contributed to GIDLMMs excellent data efficiency, apart from the semantic descriptions generated by LMM and LoRA fine-tuning, despite being able to outperform CLIPping models that use 100000 samples trained on only 1000 samples? |
Thank you for the question.,
The most critical design is that we completely freeze the pre-trained CLIP backbone. By doing this, we retain the massive general knowledge CLIP learned from 400 million images, rather than overwriting it or risking overfitting with our small dataset. We effectively force the model to use that vast prior knowledge and only learn the specific alignment between the image and our text descriptions using contrastive loss, which is far more efficient than training a classifier from scratch . |

| The core research motivation mentioned in the study is the spread of false information and network security risks brought by generative AI. In addition to image based false content and deepfake video fraud, has the detection demand for text and audio based false content generated by generative AI also been considered? Why ultimately focus on image detection and interpretability research?
|
Thank you for the question, For our research, while the study acknowledges that false text and audio and video are important issues, we prioritized images because images/photos still the primary driver of viral misinformation and high-stakes fraud. Even with the rise of deepfakes and live video, our main goal was to address the black box problem. Most detectors give a verdict without evidence, in our research is more on focusing the interpretability of fake images, our model explains why an image is fake, identifying specific artifacts like lighting or texture which is the missing link needed to build actual user trust. |

| Do you plan to expand the AI Judges mechanism to detect deepfake videos by analyzing temporal artifacts? |
Thank you for the question, For now, currently our roadmap is focused specifically on refining static image analysis. We want to first enhance the depth of our textual interpretations by integrating new opensourced multimodal newer models and developing a multi-turn dialogue system to improve context. Once we have established a more strong foundation for explaining static artifacts, extending the "AI Judges" concept to analyze temporal consistency in videos would certainly be a logical and interesting next step to address the growing threat of deepfakes. |
