By 2025, 60% of all vehicles will be internet-connected. A modern vehicle also contains a large number of ECU or electronic control units that communicate over an in-vehicle network. However, this increased connectivity and complexity is also increasing the security risks for the vehicles. It has been shown that attackers could exploit vulnerabilities in the infotainment systems and the communication interfaces to access the internal network and inject messages to cause flooding, fuzzy attacks, and malfunction of the vehicle.
