Underwater ad hoc networks are widely used for environmental monitoring, AUV cooperation, and mission-critical underwater operations. However, acoustic communication has fundamental physical constraints: slow propagation, very limited bandwidth, high bit-error rates, and strict energy budgets. As a direct consequence, control messages disseminate slowly and broadcasting is expensive, so after failures happen, the control plane often cannot converge in time in underwater environments.
