Congenital Heart Disease, or CHD, refers to structural abnormalities of the heart that are present at birth. It is a major global health problem affecting millions of newborns every year. The global prevalence ranges from approximately 7 to 12 cases per 1000 live births, and CHD remains a leading cause of mortality in children. In Pakistan alone, around 60,000 babies are born with CHD annually, highlighting the need for early diagnosis and treatment.
