This slide provides a basic introduction about sideband modulation. Optical sideband modulation is a technique in which one of the sidebands and/or carrier frequency of a modulated wave are suppressed.
It can be used in different applications like telecommunication and signal generation of
LiDAR.
It can be seen from the figure that changing the modulation frequency, we can change the frequency of the upper and lower sidebands. Suppressing undesired sideband and carrier can offer us uses of the desired sideband in our desired applications. |
