SSL/TLS solution is not suited to a resource-constrained IoT environment.
Therefore, a new resource-constrained IoT-friendly security solution is required.
An IoT-friendly security solution should have a low computational overhead.
It does not require significant memory usage and high processing capability.
It also should have a low communication overhead.
It should reduce the communication overhead associated with asymmetric (public key) encryption techniques.
This is why we propose a new lightweight security solution for resource-constrained IoT devices using the MQTT protocol.
