Our methodology was built around a live GPON testbed in collaboration with Unified National Networks in Brunei. The network core consists of a Huawei MA5600 OLT, a 1:32 optical splitter, and a 20 km fiber link. We tested two common ONU models: the SmartAX MA5675 and the EchoLife HG8245H5. For measurement, we developed a dedicated system using an INA260 sensor controlled by a Raspberry Pi 4, sampling at 100-millisecond intervals. Our traffic profile used UDP with incremental steps from 0 to 1 Gigabit per second, with four repetitions per load step for statistical reliability |
