Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a wireless communication technology that uses the visible light spectrum (between 400 and 800 THz) to transmit information. It is mainly based on the use of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that simultaneously serve as lighting sources and data transmission. These LEDs flash at very high frequencies, imperceptible to the human eye, to send digital signals (0 and 1). At the other end, a photodetector or photodiode captures these light variations and translates them into data that can be used by a receiver. |
