In AWGN channel, In simulation, at BER = 0.01, MAP-64 constellations outperform R-64 constellations all 3 cases (entropy H(P) = 3.5, 4.0, and 5.0 bit/symbol). The experiment confirmed the simulation results. The proposed MAP-64 constellations can obtain 0.030, 0.024, and 0.001 dB of shaping gain comparing to R-64 constellations for H(P) = 3.5, 4.0, and 5.0 bit/symbol, respectively.
