Compared with ID-only sequential models, HiSeR benefits from incorporating semantic information from reviews. While review-based models also show competitive performance, they lack a unified mechanism to jointly model sequential behavior and textual semantics.
HiSeR addresses this limitation through a Hybrid Item Encoder and a Transformer-based Sequential Encoder, enabling effective modeling of both semantic signals and short- and long-term dependencies. |
