Confidence is a metric that reflects how reliable a neighbors location information is. It increases with newer timestamps, lower relative speed between the nodes, and higher neighbor residual energy. The Forwarding Angle theta is the angle between the vector to the destination and the vector to the neighbor. We divide the transmission range into zones: a high-efficiency zone for small theta, a low-efficiency zone, and a non-forwarding zone for large theta. The final weight for a neighbor is a function of its Confidence, its zone, and its remaining distance to the destination. The neighbor with the highest weight is chosen as the next hop. |
