This slide shows how distance affects latency and throughput. As the distance between the UAV and the base station increases from 50 meters to 500 meters, average latency rises from approximately 11 milliseconds to about 48 milliseconds. At the same time, throughput decreases from around 18 megabits per second to about 3 megabits per second.
This trend is consistent with Friis path-loss theory, which states that signal power decreases with distance, leading to reduced signal quality and transmission efficiency. These results demonstrate that long-distance transmission significantly challenges real-time environmental monitoring applications, particularly when high-resolution or high-frequency data must be transmitted. |
