The integration of visible light communication (VLC) into remote patient monitoring systems (RPMS) represents a significant advancement in improving the safety, privacy, and efficiency of remote medical care. With its ability to provide fast and secure data transmission, VLC overcomes some of the limitations of conventional RF technologies, including electromagnetic interference and the security of sensitive patient data. In this study, the use of VLC technology in RPMS has been presented and analyzed in the areas of interest that are applications and devices used. The challenges faced by VLC in RPMS as well as solutions to these challenges have been presented. |
