Its data-plane repair suppresses blackhole propagation and maintains near-normal delay before control-plane updates arrive, and compared to alternatives that suffer from stale-topology forwarding, probing overhead, invalid backup activation, or heavy per-hop recomputation, UW-LFRR provides the most balanced combination of reliability, efficiency, and resource usage among the evaluated mechanisms.
