Given the challenges posed by patient mobility and positioning, how does the implementation cost of VLC-based remote patient monitoring systems compare to that of existing wireless communication technologies? RPM systems based on VLC reduce costs by leveraging existing LED lighting and minimizing data interception risks. However, their efficiency is highly influenced by patient mobility and positioning, requiring an optimized arrangement of liv nght sources. In contrast, RF technologies provide more stable and flexible connectivity, regardless of patient movement, but come with higher infrastructure and cybersecuribty costs. The choice depends on the trade-off betweenbcost, security, and mobility management.
