For junior engineers focusing on technical skills (like coding or networking), at what career stage should they start training their Emotional Intelligence to become future leaders in an AI-integrated environment? Interesting Question ! Junior engineers should begin developing Emotional Intelligence from the early stage of their careers, alongside technical skills. In AI-integrated environments, technical tasks can be augmented or automated by AI, but skills such as communication, self-awareness, collaboration, and ethical judgment take years to develop. Starting EI development early allows engineers to gradually build leadership capability, so when they move into senior or lead roles, they are already prepared to manage people, interpret AI-driven insights, and lead teams effectively. Also , The need for undergraduate education to shift from knowledge based to competency based. So that students could get this initial training even while completing their higher studies.
