How the smart contract feature within the blockchain operation layer interacts with the IIoT services to ensure automated and secure transactions between devices in the Smart Factory Operation The current smart contract technology, as supported by platforms like Ethereum, requires all nodes to execute the same code. However, recent research is exploring enhancements to accommodate IoT environments more effectively. For instance, consider a scenario where multiple devices need to perform sequential operations. Using smart contracts, when the operation is triggered, Device A executes its task first and communicates the result using a transaction. Subsequently, Device B, guided by the contract code, proceeds to perform its task. This method leverages smart contracts for automating processes among IIoT devices, facilitating the seamless operation of various IIoT services.
