The core research motivation mentioned in the study is the spread of false information and network security risks brought by generative AI. In addition to image based false content and deepfake video fraud, has the detection demand for text and audio based false content generated by generative AI also been considered? Why ultimately focus on image detection and interpretability research? Thank you for the question, For our research, while the study acknowledges that false text and audio and video are important issues, we prioritized images because images/photos still the primary driver of viral misinformation and high-stakes fraud. Even with the rise of deepfakes and live video, our main goal was to address the black box problem. Most detectors give a verdict without evidence, in our research is more on focusing the interpretability of fake images, our model explains why an image is fake, identifying specific artifacts like lighting or texture which is the missing link needed to build actual user trust.
