I am interested to know how the proposed method contributes to improving the efficiency of communication costs between healthcare devices in a healthcare facility. My question is, is the number of 40 to 50 NB-IoT devices you used as parameters for your simulation average for a modern healthcare facility? In our proposed system, we developed prioritized heterogeneous data transmission for classified events to aid healthcare applications using integrated D2D NB-IoT (In band underlay mode) which maximizes throughput and assure QoS. We considered our system for a single smart hospital with a single NB-IoT base station, which ensures a reliable service inside the smart hospital using our proposed optimum resource allocation. In our simulation, we employed 40–50 NB-IoT devices, which produced excellent results for minimizing latency and increasing delivery ratio while varying the number of NB-IoT devices and base station radius. Our key contribution is to pairing of sensing devices with cellular user equipment in close proximity which makes the data transmission faster according to applications urgency, results in reduced latency and higher delivery ratio.
