IEEE/ICACT20260329 Answer.7
Answer by Auhor yangyn@dsp.ac.cn   2026-02-08 ¿ÀÈÄ 2:27:13
What exactly does the "compressed state summary (SS)" mentioned in the abstract consist of? How is it transmitted between DCs? The compressed state summary (SS) in CDynP is a privacy-preserving data structure that consists of the minimal maximum stage execution time for each stage-layer combination, computed as SSk−1[s][l]=min1¡Âg¡ÂGk−1dpk−1[s][l][g], where dpis the dynamic programming array representing the optimal cost for partitioning layers. This SS aggregates only the essential cost metrics, excluding sensitive details like GPU allocations, intra-DC bandwidth, or topology, thus preventing information leakage. SS is transmitted sequentially along a logical chain of data centers during the "Forward CDynP" phase. Each DC receives the SS from its predecessor, performs local optimization using dynamic programming, and then compresses and forwards the updated SS to the next DC. This chain-based mechanism ensures decentralized strategy generation without exposing internal data, maintaining privacy while achieving near-optimal performance through hop-by-hop coordination.
