Title : Mathematical Artificial Intelligence for Networking and Communications |
|
Time : 17:00 ~ |
|
Speaker : Prof. Shui Yu, Ph.D. Vice President TEA IEEE ComSoc.
Shui Yu is a Professor of School of Computer Science, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. His research interest includes Communication Science, Mathematical AI, and Cybersecurity. His current h-index is 96. Professor Yu initiated the research field of networking for big data since 2013, and mathematical AI since 2023. He is currently serving the editorial boards of IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials (Area Editor), IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking, and IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing. He is serving as the Vice President of Technical and Educational Activities of IEEE ComSoc. He is a Fellow of IEEE.
Abstract :
The application of AI has reached an unprecedented peak today. However, its theoretical foundation remains relatively underdeveloped, posing significant challenges for mission-critical applications such as cloud computing, networking, and communications.
In this talk, we first provide a broad landscape of the current theoretical efforts in AI. Second, we introduce key mathematical tools relevant to this theoretical domain based on our recent studies. Finally, we demonstrate how these tools are currently applied—and could be further utilized—in networking and communication practices. We hope this talk will inspire researchers and practitioners to jointly explore this uncharted territory.
